THE CHALLENGE
With a need to inform the 2 million-plus residents in the largest county by area in the U.S. as well as people who work in the County about all things COVID-19, the challenge was how to best do this at a time when stay-at-home orders, mask mandates, high infectious rates, and skepticism about the vaccine were all in play.
THE RESULTS
Westbound developed a multi-pronged advertising and communications approach to get up-to-date and accurate information to the public. The program included branding for the emergency response efforts, content development for multiple channels of communication, public outreach including town halls and presentations, trusted messengers and cultural brokers, media relations, video production, social media, advertising, events and more. The information helped the public make informed decisions throughout each critical phase of the pandemic from the original shut down through vaccinations becoming available to all eligible people.
