THE CHALLENGE
As water flows from a rain event, someone washing their car, or even sprinklers, the run-off goes to the Mojave Watershed, collecting everything in its path including litter, pesticides, motor oil and more. MRWG and Westbound are tasked with making sure residents and businesses understand this and are doing what they can to prevent a polluted watershed.
THE RESULTS
For 10 years Westbound has led the public outreach efforts for MRWG – implementing a full-scale community, business, school and digital outreach campaign. A highly creative toolbox of outreach tactics have included school assemblies, sing-along-songs, The Droplet eNewsletter, social media pages, videos, a children’s book, business-specific materials, scout initiatives and more. MRWG is considered a valuable community environmental partner in the High Desert.
